Proliance Packaging

Manufacturing Technology

The science of
seamless packaging.

In-Mold Labeling (IML) is an advanced manufacturing process that embeds a pre-printed polypropylene label directly into the container wall during injection moulding. The result is a single, indivisible, highly decorative packaging unit.

The Process

How In-Mold Labeling works.

Unlike traditional packaging where labels are glued or sleeved onto a finished container, IML integrates decoration into the manufacturing cycle itself. A robotic arm places a pre-printed label inside the injection mould. As molten polypropylene is injected, it fuses with the label, curing together to form a seamless, single-material container.

01

Label Placement

High-speed robotics place the pre-printed, cut PP label precisely into the cavity of the injection mould.

02

Injection Moulding

Molten virgin polypropylene is injected into the mould at high pressure, flowing behind and around the label.

03

Fusion & Curing

The label and container material fuse at the molecular level, cooling to form a single, indivisible structure.

04

Automated Ejection

The finished, fully decorated container is ejected, vision-inspected, and automatically stacked for packing.

The IML Advantage

Why brands choose IML.

In-Mold Labeling delivers functional and aesthetic benefits that traditional post-mould decoration simply cannot match, particularly for food and dairy applications.

Tamper-Proof & Secure

Because the label is structurally embedded into the plastic wall, it cannot be peeled, scratched off, or altered. This guarantees brand authenticity and product security.

High-Definition Print

IML utilizes high-resolution offset printing, delivering photographic image quality, vibrant brand colors, and crisp typography that stand out on retail shelves.

Extreme Durability

IML containers resist moisture, deep-freeze temperatures, and severe friction. The protective varnish prevents the label from blistering or wrinkling in cold storage.

100% Recyclable

Since both the container and the label are made of the exact same material (Polypropylene), the entire unit is 100% recyclable without requiring label separation.

IML Injection Moulding Machine
Infrastructure

Engineered for precision at scale.

Producing flawless IML containers requires exact synchronization between moulding machines, moulds, and robotics. Our Samba facility is built around European-engineered technology to guarantee this precision.

High-Speed Robotics

Multi-axis robots place labels with sub-millimeter accuracy and extract finished products in fractions of a second, ensuring optimal cycle times and consistent output.

Micro-Tolerance Moulds

Our injection moulds are engineered to micrometer tolerances to ensure perfect snap-fit closures, zero flashing, and even wall distribution.

Cleanroom Environment

All IML production occurs within a Class 100,000 controlled environment, mitigating dust and static, which are critical for perfect label placement and food safety.
